Look another tableless Site.

We should be launching Americanlongevity.net soon. The new design resides here http://newsite.americanlongevity.net. This site is built without using tables for layout and conforms to current webstands. It was built with namely three style sheets. A primary, a secondary pages one and a print style. I have found that once you start designing with webstandards it is much easier to update and manage.

Some minor fixes are still underway. The one problem noted is the size of the front page due to the request by the client. The flash used on that front page is nearly 50kb, which is quite heavy. We tried to get it smaller by using fewer images in the flash, but the client got his way. Any way we are pleased with the overall relult and what can be done without using table.

Interested in creating ascii art. Check out typorganism.com/ (via Zeldman). They have many tools also. Just look at what can be done

Microsoft using standards?

I couldn’t believe when microsoft announced Frontpage 2003. As scary as the previous version were for writing terrible code, the new one bosts that it writes standard-compliant code, and the first WYSIWYG to use XSLT.

Any way, I will never use frontpage but, maybe this will improve the code out there of other websites, now Microsoft justs needs to fix Word’s HTML generated code.

A website I am currently redesigning was originally designed in front page and edited there too, the code was terrible. Details will soon come about it. If you do have crappy MSHTML code or word docs made into HTML use Textism Word HTML cleaner, works great.

Launching

I have decided to go public and launch “dialog” on my site. It will be a collection of happenings, ideas, facts and everything else under the moon. The right menu may be a little screwy right now as I am working on it. Welcome to my site.

If you want something diversionary try out twenty questions it can be quite accurate.
